Winter + Spring.

You'd think that warm spring weather would have hit, but I'm still wearing extreme layers in April!

Like the wind-blown hair? Yes, that's a regular occurrence lately. Casual, cozy outfits are good for busy homework weeks!

Outfit:
First sweater: Forever21.
Second Sweater: Urban Outfitters.
THIRD Sweater: Urban Outfitters.
Scarf: H&M.
Jeans: H&M.
Boots: Le Chateau.

Have a lovely weekend! I'm off to a spa weekend with an entire girls dorm. Relaxing before exams is key!

Enjoy!

Spring is coming! The snow is melting, and I am dreaming of spring clothes! I started wearing my summer shirts this week. Oh how I missed these pastel colours!

Is Spring coming your way?

Transitioning seasons.

Sometimes one must endure the inside light, and take indoor photos. It's march, and it's been snowing intermittently for days! I'm longing for spring.

I figured out why I love the colour mustard so much. It's because when I was younger, I was told I can't wear yellow. The solution in my mind: wear mustard.

awkward neck kink.

The outfit was quite busy with patterns and colours, so I paired it with simple gold earrings.

I got the inspiration for this outfit here.

What's your transition outfit for winter to spring?

Inspiration.

Your wardrobe feeling a little dry? Here's what I'm longing for this February. I'm seeing lots of grey-blues and camel colours. My favourite!

$1400? Hmm. Probably not in the college student budget.
What are your February fashion wishes?

Four Looks.

Introducing: Four January Looks!

(disclaimer: still figuring out my camera..hence the inconsistency)

Look 1: I paired a short-sleeved sweater with a long-sleeved thicker sweater. Keeps me warm all day!

Look 2: the basic jeans and sweatshirt, but adding a patterned scarf and a hair feather.

Look 3: Sometimes it's hard to style a coloured jean. I paired them with a chevron print that has the same blue in the top, keeping it a little monotone throughout.

Look 4: A few simple layers, but as long as it's layered, I'm still keeping the cold out, and not feel like I'm bundled up too much. And if I don't know how to finish an outfit, I throw a pendant on!

How do you stay warm in January? My solution? Layers!

Enjoy!

Busy Bee.

I'm a busy bee. A busy bee I tell you! And not just because these pictures are in the garden. I'm working lots, and just put in my notice to leave good ol' Starbucks to go back to school. I am getting excited for my projects for my dorm room!

I took some pictures for a guest post on Mr. Taylor and His Lady that's coming up, but it's also going to be an outfit post for my readers for today! Double the fun!

top: bootlegger.
necklace: handmade.
belt: bluenotes.
fancy pants: Vero Moda.
shoes: Aldo.

I love these shoes! They have like a 1/4 inch heel, so they make a nice clicky sound, but are super comfortable!

These pants are fun to wear too.

Do you have any outfits that are just fun to wear? These pants and shoes are on the top of my list for sure.

Enjoy!

Just Add Some Lace!

Have you ever had that shirt in your closet that you bought on impulse because it was 2 for one, and you only actually wanted one shirt? Well if you have, this is the post for you!

See this shirt? olive green. A fine colour. but as a plain cheap tank? not a fan.

Is that the same shirt you ask? Yes it is! But tastefully adorned with lace, and fancied into an outfit for a night on the town, it looks much better!

outfit:
tank: Bluenotes
skirt: vintage Anne Klein, thrifted
shading my eyes from the sun: feet first (yesterday's find!)
heels: Wal-mart.

Do you have an old shirt that needs some love? Add some lace!

I am not going out for a night on the town, and I can't exactly where my favourite thrifted skirt and heels to a summer BBQ! Tuesday plans anyone?

Enjoy!

Lovely isn't always attainable, except for maybe in burlap.

Okay, seriously. Why are there so many beautiful clothes out there? I am having serious problems with jealousy today.

I don't think the giveaway on Grosgrain for this frock is still current, but what a lovely outfit!

Another spring dress by Grosgrain. I can't believe I haven't come across this blog until today!

In other news, I made a decorative pillow out of a burlap coffee bag!

There was a small hole in one side, so I made a nice little patch for it.

I have one more seam to sew up (hence the puckered side of the pillow) but I couldn't wait to share this with you! Do you have any crafty projects or fashion finds lately?

Check out my new 'Loved Blogs' tab on the top of this page! I'm sharing some of my favourite inspirational blogs with you!

Elected!

It's election day in Canada, and the results are in, it's a majority Conservative government. Congrats goes out to Stephen! I'll admit, I'm not really in the know with political matters, in my own country or in others, but I do love fashion. And I do think that Jackie Kennedy was one fashionable lady. Oh dear, that makes me sound terribly stupid - politics, no, but fashion, yes? I promise, I do enjoy things besides fashion, crafting and design!

But in regards to crafting, today I helped my mom with some her projects! A lemon yellow chair, and a soon to be modernized secretary desk! I'll feature pictures as soon as they're finished! I'm extremely excited to share!

Also, I found a really cute site for children's clothes! Misha Lulu combines patterns in such a fun way! The three featured collections right now make me want to be that really cool aunt who buys fun clothes for her nieces. Not really an option right now, but ah well, such is life.

Here's a photo of the fine Lady Kennedy relaxing a few weeks after her husband was elected President in the United States. What class!

Reality TV, Inspiring my life. (not really)

I love clothes. I really love creating outfits. So during this week of relaxing, I've been enjoying a reality show called Project Runway. Now I may not be in, but i'm definitely not out of a fashion sense completely. In argument to Heidi Klum's statement, "You're either in, or you're out", I think I may be right in the middle. The judges on this oh-so-intriguing fashion designing competition often say that fit is so important. If the contestants outfits don't fit perfectly on the models, this often causes elimination.

If you know me in the least, you'll know I am a 'deal finder' (self proclaimed title). I rarely buy anything full price. Why do so? When it will always go on sale eventually. Sales are my dominated section of a store, I will search relentlessly for the best, the most pretty, and the least expensive pieces. A shirt for $5? Yes please! 2 shirts for $5? Even better! Because of this, I often succumb to settling for the wrong size, saying, "Oh, it fits alright. I will still wear it.", since sale sections don't always have the largest selection.

Project Runway may change my point of view on this. No, I won't let a show dictate my life, but maybe grabbing every sale item I can find isn't the best way to approach shopping adventures. I've improved over the years, but often I am still drawn in by that bright red sticker on the normally bland white tag. Perhaps I can be a little more particular in how I shop. Especially being a poor student this next year, this concept may serve me well.

Anyway, here's a collage made on Polyvore made of well-tailored items, all very chic and 'fashion-forward' as my good friend Heidi Klum might put it.
