Awkward and Awesome.

If this isn't an awkward outfit photo, I don't know what is.

Outfit:

shirt: Urban Behaviour

cardigan: Urban Outfitters

shorts: Urban Behaviour (apparently I'm feeling urban)

necklace: good ol' Ardene's!

Awkward:

- the librarian asking for your advice on which colour of paper to put the call numbers on, white or beige. Yes, I do like design, but i hardly think this qualifies. 

- sitting down, planning on cracking down on some homework (yes, I do mean reading blogs), and somehow, you end up sitting near a conversation that you really don't want to hear. Wrong chair at the wrong time.

- Reaching in the chip bag at the same time as someone else. Now, I don't find this awkward in the least, but sometimes, when it happens to me, I imagine it happening to two awkward people and THAT is funny.

Awesome:

- libraries. ah, the smell of books. Even with librarians. It's helping me to relax and maybe, just maybe, I will finally be in the mindset to write those two papers that are due tomorrow!

- the best cooks in the world work where I go to school. I'm serious! My parents have told me about awful cafeteria experiences in college, but here, it's quite agreeable! Not only do they cook great food, but they cook separate food for me, the lady who can't have lactose. They ordered a little carton of Soy milk! and they set aside a bowl of soup before the mix the milk into the rest of the pot! Aren't they just the best?

- Tortilla chips and homemade salsa. Mmm.

Awkward and Awesome.

It's thursday again, and I have been a lazy blogger this week! Many bloggers apologize for this, but I was with my family, so I'm not going to apologize, I will just ask that you'd keep coming back and reading!

Awkward:

-two people calling in sick today at work. I am very sorry they are sick, but it made for a very interesting day over at Starbucks. Oh no... you didn't just order 13 drinks for the office!!

-Not so much awkward as sad, but I only have TWO WEEKS left of markouts. that means I have to buy coffee and tea after this. Who does that.

-Clouds rolling in and deciding not to do anything. If you're going to take the sun away, at least sprinkle a bit!

Awesome:

-naps and showers. in that order.

-"Hands" by Young Man. Head on over to Noisetrade for a free album by Young Man! Just discovered them today!

-I go back to school in two weeks!! I get to decorate a blank slate of a dorm room! And am getting more excited by the second!

Summer is still present. Which makes me so happy! I hate even the thought of winter. This photo from Twigs and Honey is a lovely representation of enjoying summer for me.

Thursday.

Yes, you heard right. There is nothing awkward about this Thursday. I hope this idea isn't too off the wall for you.

Would you like to know what's awesome about today? Of course you would! Here are four things that made my day lovely.

1. I actually felt like cleaning today. Was successful till I started blogging.

2. I had the day off work. Having a thursday off is fantastic! I have to close on Canada Day tomorrow, but who cares?

3. I won a giveaway on Dear Prudence! And didn't even realize it. I won like half a month ago! This is my first win of a giveaway on a blog, so I'm super excited! I get to sport some neat Bobby Pins from Sea of Blooming Dreams Etsy shop. I'll show them as soon as I get them!

4. I get to attend a play tonight with my family.

5. I started my crafty-lady book. I'm pretty sure everyone should have a crafty-lady book. My boyfriend brought me back this book from when he was in Boston last week. It's from Urban Outfitters. Last year, he also got me these book ends. He's pretty neat.

Take a look inside, it's the theme words for my blog! I thought it was fitting.

Now to fill the rest of the pages with crafty ideas! I'm so excited! I will make check boxes so I can check off the projects as I finish them. Isn't checking off a list satisfying?

6. Here's what I read during my spare time this week. Real Simple, as well as ReadyMade are magazines that most crafty ladies love.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday.

Thursday comes around again. Ah, thursday. I think customers just know thursdays are super busy and choose to be super high maintenance for us on thursdays! Yes we have to charge 50c. Even if you're only getting one pump of syrup!!

Awkward:

-My former doctor coming into Starbucks all the time. She doesn't remember me, which is fine. But somehow I always feel like I should say something. But really, what would I say, "Hey! So I used to be your patient, but now I go to a different doctor!" Nope. Probably best to leave it as is.

-I parallel parked today. Or tried to. Always a little awkward when you're trying to get into a spot, but there is tons of traffic whizzing by. I know they're watching me fail at parking. I know it.

Awesome:

-New CD in my possession! Fleet Foxes. Have you heard them? Please do so here.

-New Glasses almost in my possession! I will try and post some photos once I get them. They're super fun!

-Going for coffee (actually tea..cause they didnt have soy milk or ice for a beverage) with my good friend, Erin (this was always on the awesome list. No matter what Erin says).

-A new playlist on my Ipod. I found a bunch of songs I didn't know I had in my itunes, and put them all together on a sweet playlist. Hey! I'll share some of it with you! Why not?

Awkward and Awesome Thursday.

It's Thursday.

And i'm tired. This getting up before 6 every morning is wearing on me, I tell you!

So it's very hard for me to think creatively as of this second. Starbucks = creativity sucker (just kidding. I like it there!)

Awkward:

-Assistant Manager telling you not to sell that bottle of Sugar-Free Vanilla as you're handing it to the customer. Oops. I think the customer was more awkward about it than I was.

-Another customer saying, as he's looking at the CD's by the till, "It's so hard to buy CD's nowadays, isn't it?" I chuckle and agree, not having a clue what he means. Hard? I buy CDs all the time!

Awesome:

-Tips! I love working at a job with tips.

-Going to the Body Shop, finding 2 for $12 lotions (I bought Satsuma, apparently it's a natural bug repellant? I'm up for trying it out this summer!) and getting a free Body Shop Card because it's my birthday month! $22 in savings? Alright!!

-Customer Survey results! If you ever get a survey with your receipt, fill it out! It's so nice to get nice essays written by customers! And the negative ones too...Yes, we will try to not be located in a mall next time, for sure.

Oops. Almost forgot. It's Awkward and Awesome Thursday!



Awkward:
-An old man at work asking me, "Are you sure you aren't Queen Elizabeth?" Yes. Yes, I'm quite sure.
-Opening up my eye contacts case this morning to find only one contact. Hmm. And I'm completely out of new ones. Not so much awkward as frustrating!

Awesome:
-Grande Soy Coffee Frappucino with 1 scoop vanilla bean powder and 2 pumps coconut. Try it.
-Wearing dresses every day after work. Also, buying three dresses in a week. Yes for tip money!
